Position Function/Purpose
The Family Outreach Liaison shall conduct parent and family outreach activities which foster a strong relationship between home and school, and equip caregivers with knowledge and skills to be active participants in their student’s education.
This position will not be funded after the 2023-2024 school year or before if ESSER funds are no longer available and there is no guarantee the position will be funded through other sources after this date.

Major Responsibilities
- Conduct parent education seminars on a regular basis.
- Make contact with parents to help encourage student attendance and parent engagement.
- If bilingual, serve as a translator for families making contact with campus.
- Actively promote happenings on campus and encourage participation.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on key platforms and programs such as Skyward, in order to guide others.
- Act as a trusted advisor to help families find resolution to questions and concerns.

Qualification Requirements
Ability to plan, organize, and implement activities and events
Ability to work with diverse populations and varying socio-economic groups
Ability to consider multiple viewpoints and be solutions-oriented
Ability to communicate effectively in English
Ability to communicate in Spanish preferred
Experience with social media and various forms of communication preferred

Work Environment
The environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Normal office environment. Hours are flexible Monday - Friday. Availability required for occasional evening and weekend events (approximately once per month). This is a grant funded position with funding for 3 years. There is no guarantee of employment following the funding period, though the employee may be eligible to apply to other positions within Midland ISD.
