EXPERIENCE: Prior work and knowledge related to repair and maintenance of irrigation systems.
Position Function/Purpose
To clean, maintain and repair manual and electronic underground/above ground irrigation
or sprinkler systems and system controls.

Major Responsibilities
1. Maintain district underground irrigation/sprinkler systems in efficient working order to properly distribute irrigation water to MISD grounds.
2. Calibrate controls of all irrigation/sprinkler systems to operate irrigation systems in an efficient manner as directed.
3. Maintain all sprinkler systems to operate in accordance with manufacturer's specifications
4. Assist the Grounds Department in repair and related systems and equipment as assigned by Irrigation Foreman. Repair and maintain pumps, valves, piping as requested
5. Consults with Principals to determine if they have problems with any irrigation or sprinkler equipment or watering schedules
6. Monitor on a monthly basis all District underground irrigation sprinkler systems to verify if systems are properly operating
7. Grease or oil all irrigation/sprinkler systems pumps as required by manufacturer
8. Communicate with Irrigation Crew and Irrigation Foreman on all projects and work order status
9. Other duties as assigned by the Irrigation Foreman, or Director of Facility Design

Qualification Requirements
Minimum Certification/Education:
1. High School Diploma or GED
2. Valid Texas Driver’s License
Special Knowledge/Skills:
1. Knowledge of basic mechanical and plumbing equipment and underground irrigation
and sprinklers systems, valves, sprinkler heads, pumps etc.
Minimum Experience:
1. Documented prior experience servicing and maintaining mechanical, plumbing and
irrigation systems
